A happy follow-up
/in Social Engagement /by SharksMedia ApSThe news this week is indeed a happy follow-up. In December 2014, GRAINTEC announced the annual Christmas donation to be a project of improving a pre-school facility for 80 children in the small village of Oumbega in Benin. Through a donation to BØRNEfonden (a none profit Danish organization), the project should ensure new classroom facilities with latrines and water tanks – and we are very pleased to pass on the latest news from the construction site: We are on schedule! And the outlook of making deadline as of June 2015 is very promising. Thanks to all our customers – your business is appreciated!
The construction workers, parents, teachers and children are doing a great job in completing this great opportunity for the little community and we are glad to see it has become a joint effort. Education is one of the most important drive forces of development, and we are assured this donation will help to improve the future living conditions of the people in Oumbega. We are looking forward to see the final result this summer.

Sponsored Christmas breakfast for children in Concepción, Chile
/in Social Engagement /by SharksMedia ApS
Graintec Ltda. in Chile decided to sponsor a social activity for children who need social support in the city of Concepción, where our Chilean office also is located.
As an extra Christmas present, Graintec Ltda. gave breakfast to 70 children and a foosball table as a present for the group. The activity took place and was arranged with the “Ciudad del Niño”, which is a center and gathering point for children that are classified as vulnerable and with social challenges.
The day was a success and the happy faces of the children said it all. We hope to continue this activity in the future and be part of changing lives.

Donation made Benin School library a reality
/in Graintec News, Social Engagement /by SharksMedia ApSOur last donation to the Danish Children’s Foundation ”Børnefonden” made it possible to establish a library in connection with a school in Benin.
Education is one of the most important drivers of development, yet there are still many children and young people who do not attend school or have access to proper education. For improving knowledge in the Secondary School of Akonana we sponsored the building of a new Library from the ground up and equipped it with furniture and books and ensured the training of teachers and school parent committee to secure the maintenance and support of the library.
The library is now fully functional and equipped and we are happy to have contributed to this unique project. Read more

Child Survival and Development Unit/Preschool Unit in Mali
/in Social Engagement /by SharksMedia ApSIn Mali preschool education is rare and it hardly exists in the country’s rural areas. Here education of young children is urgently needed as it enables them to acquire further learning and create a better future.
The donation in 2011 from GRAINTEC A/S to BØRNEfonden goes to the construction of a «Child Survival and Development Unit/Preschool Unit» in the village of Gouenso in Mali, West Africa.
The hut and the water tank in Benin
/in Social Engagement /by SharksMedia ApSIn 2010 GRAINTEC A/S will again support a project for BØRNEfonden.
The object of this project is building a hut in a small village in Benin, West Africa. This new hut will improve the welfare and conditions of mothers and small children and give them a sheltered place for activities of child health care and nutrition counselling. The hut will also lower the risk of hygienic diseases. A water tank will be constructed next to the hut for easy access to pure drinking water.
Follow the project here during 2011.
