Project Assistant

Graintec is renowned for leading-edge know-how in Aquafeed and Pet food process facilities and has a substantial market share in Europe and Latin America. Our position is earned through more than 30 years’ endeavor to learn, create new knowledge and develop solutions to proactively foresee our customers’ needs.

Our projects range from conceptual design studies, to full scale green field plant construction. We need you to join our local team in Concepcion Chile, to assist our project managers execute their projects in Chile.

As Project assistant, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinate local purchases of parts and services and coordinate timely delivery on site
  • Create and manage site files for: Tools onsite, fitters list for site personnel, local suppliers, etc.
  • QA inspection of local deliveries and equipment delivered on site
  • Assist with HSE administration on site
  • Create installation manuals for site work
  • Create instruction manuals for our customers

Qualifications

  • You have a mid-level technical education or similar.
  • You probably have 3 – 5 years´ experience from working in a technical environment e.g. engineering company, mechanical installation contractor or a production facility.
  • You are used to coordinate suppliers and negotiate purchase orders
  • You are familiar with HSE and QA procedures for working on an installation site
  • Knowledge of our industry would be an advantage, but is not a prerequisite
  • You have basic CAD knowledge (able to extract drawings etc.)

Senior Process engineer/Manager, TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

Full responsibility for technology – after thorough training

As part of a generational handover, Graintec look for a competent engineer who – after a period of 12- 18 months’ partnership with the company’s present technology manager – will be able to enter a key role in the company.

You will be at the head of a minor team of engineers and ph.d. students working on development and implementation of processes and technologies which can maintain and develop Graintec’s position as a global market leader in the area of supplying complete process plants as well as upgrading of existing plants in the aqua feed and pet food industry.

Graintec’s present position has been built through the company’s strong skills in efficiency improvement of production and energy, quality optimizing as well as odour and waste reduction. In other words, you will be working with problems which are known from many production industries – but with solutions which are unique for this industry.

You will get a very noticeable role in Graintec’s value chain. Your knowledge and technological overview will be needed from the early start of the sales phase in which your team will support the sales staff by finding the right process-technical solutions. You will also act as communicator of the company’s skills in connection with trade fairs and trade events.

Knowledge about technology and processes is one of Graintec’s strategic legs, and you will therefore – after introduction to your role – hold a natural seat in the management group of the company.

Experience with Development of Process Equipment

Ideally, you have 5-10 years’ experience in development of equipment to the process industry in which you already have a role as sparring partner for the management, the commercial colleagues – and the customers of the company – when the right technical solution is required and the company’s development resources need to be prioritized.

You hold a degree in (mechanical) engineering at BA level or higher, and have a good understanding of relevant processes (i.e. particle size reduction, drying/cooling, extrusion, process air ventilation and complex liquid handling systems).

Knowledge of the aqua feed or pet food industry or relevant food processes is an advantage, however, it is not a final demand.

It is important that you have technical knowledge and curiosity enabling you to understand the industry’s needs. You have analytic flair and a methodical approach to things enabling you to prioritise and turn good ideas into useful solutions.

As you will be surrounded by stakeholders both internally and externally, it is important that you are an efficient communicator and that you are able to inspire confidence and maintain long-term relationships in an industry with only a few global major players.
